PC v. Mac: The Job Posting Round


TechCrunch has a nice little article comparing the job description of 2 new Microsoft shops vs. Apple Stores.  Of course, I hope both want to open lots of new stores and employ more people, but the George Carlin style comparison between the two job postings is certainly entertaining.

Microsoft employs “Retail Technical Advisors”

Apple employs “Genusises”

Microsoft’s Basic Min Qual:

Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exemplary presentation skills
Ability to multi-task is a must
Superior customer service/people rapport skills, both 1:1 and in a group environment
Lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds (loading and unloading all those great products and carrying purchases out for our customers will be required!) 

Apple: Well, let’s just say there’s no mention of lifting 75 pounds. Really? We’re still writing that in ads?  (I know the OFCCP implications of that question, yet, I still ask…)
